On Monday, January 28, 2019 Gary Richard Strong, loving father, brother, grandfather, passed away at the age of 72.
Gary was born on December 27, 1946 in Vero Beach, Florida to Charles Bartlett Strong Jr. and Gloria Gill Strong. Gary grew up to love fishing, you’d find him at the local “fishing hole”, as a young child he’d ride his bike early morning to go fishing, that was his passion, along with his love for animals, you’d always see him with stray cats, dogs, even opossums, injured hawks he’d nurse back to health, he was known for his giving nature. Gary graduated from Lanier high school for boys in Macon, Georgia. He continued his education in Tifton, Georgia at ABAC College specializing in fish hatchery. Gary however worked as a pipe fitter, welder for most of his life, if he wasn’t working, you’d find him in his garden or fishing at the river....”Pops” will be truly be missed.
He is survived by: his daughter, Tammy Lynn Strong Brenno; sister, Sharon; brother, Charles; grandchildren, Victoria, Elizabeth, Eric, Shannon; and great grandchildren, Connor, Jocelyn, Samuel Adams.
He is preceded in death by: his son, Gary Richard Jr, daughter, Angelica Dale, with his father, Charles, his mother, Gloria, his wife, Suzon and his brother Rodney.
