It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Shirley A. Boyce
February 13, 1939 - May 23, 2019

Place of Birth: Beach, North Dakota
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 80

Shirley Ann Boyce, age 80, of Sidney, MT, went to be with the Lord, while surrounded by her family at the Sidney Health Center on May 23, 2019.
Shirley was born February 13, 1939 in Beach, ND to Ray and Emma Tasker, in the middle of two brothers, Wendell and Morris. Shirley grew up on the family farm, where she attended Trotters School through the 8th grade. Living in the country required her to walk a mile to school each way, sometimes in the snow, uphill (no Kidding). Shirley graduated from Beach High School in 1957. She worked for several years at Walt’s Super Value in Beach, ND.
On May 24, 1961 she married the boy next door, George Boyce. As newlyweds, George and Shirley lived and worked on Joe Wheeler’s Ranch at Squaw Gap, North Dakota. In 1962, they welcomed their son, Warren Ray to the family. In 1966, they welcomed their daughter, Della Louise. That same year they made the move to Billings, MT after George began working for Mountain States Telephone. In 1975, they made the move to Glendive, MT after George took a promotion with the telephone company. Then in 1980, George and Shirley made the decision to join the family business, Boyce Drilling, where they both worked until their retirement in 2000.
Shirley enjoyed adventures; snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, and lots of traveling. Time spent at the family homestead was treasured. George and Shirley loved music and dancing, especially fall trips to the Norsk Hostfest in Minot, ND.
Shirley was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. “To know her was to love her”.
Shirley is survived by her husband George; son Warren (Shirlee) Boyce, and daughter Della (Parris) Pewonka; Grandsons, Dwight Boyce, Brock Pewonka and Brant Pewonka; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Ray and Emma Tasker and brothers, Wendell Tasker and Morris Tasker.
