Kathy and Susan and families; We were certainly shocked to get the message about your Mom's passing. You know how we loved her. She was a grand lady. Wonderful sense of humor and loved the Lord.. We'd like to be at her memorial service, whenever that can be held. 104! Wow! You are lucky to have had her so long. Beautiful photo of Gertrude! Praise God for her long life. Sue and Lyle Johnsen

Susan and Kathy and families, We were so sorry to hear of your Mom’s death. The last time I had a chance to visit with her was a couple of years ago at Touchmark. She had just come out of Chapel and I had a chance to visit with her in her room. She looked so pretty and I would never have guessed her age. I grew up down the street from their house. She was a hard worker and always had a beautiful garden. She was beautiful person, inside and out. You girls are going to miss her as well as all that knew her. We are thinking of you and Gert’s whole family with sympathy and love.

God gave us memories so we might have roses in December (Barrie) I did not know Gertrude but I knew Kathy. Gertrude had to have been a fine woman to have raise a kind, giving, and caring daughter who loved her mother immensely. Kathy, I am sure your mother is smiling down from the heavens, thanking you for the blessings of time and care you gave her. You have made her proud giving your life to serving others in government -- Art Link, Bryon Dorgan and the North Dakota legislature. Though the tears with sadness never cease, my hope is the tears with laughter flow as you remember the happy times shared. I can hear your laugh, Kathy, and I am sure hers was similar. God's blessings of patience, wisdom, courage and strength for each new day.

Growing up with Kathy and Susan, Gertrude was a constant, I can barely remember not having all of you in my life. Gertrude's gentle manner of living, her sweet smile and perpetual love of family will warm my heart the rest of my life. I have said for many years that I wanted to be Gertrude when I grew up. We wish you all comfort in this sad time, but also joy in celebrating a wonderful life well lived. Love to you all!
