I'm grateful for this summer and all the times I got to visit with you But I had hoped this was a connection that could last many more years.
I stayed with the Hoovers from 1978 to 1980. The first time I ever had books was the Hoovers. The first time I ever had an extended family was the Hoovers. Every relative mattered and I was incorporated into that.
An early memory. I was desperately afraid of showers and baths. She would pour warm water over my hair such that it wouldn't get in my eyes in the bathtub. Little by little she would get me more used to water.
I remember her teaching me how to tell time. She had a mister owl clock as an aid. What boot was left footed and what was right footed. The first time I remember fireworks. Afternoons watching soap operas with her
I never got to tell her but I hope she knew how much she remained a mother to me even when we had lost contact as I went to live with other families.
A more recent memory. I loved her stories. I didn't have to know the relative or Fairview resident. But it was like I was there when she recounted the funniest and weirdest accounts. All her stories told something special about the person in question.
Thank you Diane Hoover for letting be a part of your family and giving me a shot in life

Larry and Pam, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Mom was telling me she was so happy that we had our reunion this year, she really thought about not coming because of this covid thing because of her having to be quarantined but she was the happiest I've seen her in years. Diane and everybody had her laughing more than I've seen in along time, so your mom put alot of happiness in my moms heart that day and I thank her for that and wish I could tell Diane that now. Just wanted you to know that
