Dear Ardis and all your dear family,
We are so sorry for your great loss and yet also for Jerry’s gain. For he is now in the presence of the Lord. A song I know well concludes well with this phrase... “until this life is over and I run into your arms, God has you in heaven but I have you in my heart.” I know you will always have Jerry in your hearts and we will keep you in our prayers for these days ahead. The Lord understands your difficult journey and will be there to provide each step. Ardis, the Lord will care for you along with your sweet family. This a load you may think unbearable but Jesus knows and is there to see you through your journey one minute at a time.

My Uncle Jerry was also my godfather, whom I loved deeply, and will always miss. Our families have been close throughout my life and have many memories I will always cherish. Ardis, LaVonne, Brian, Michael and Todd, there are no words for the deeply personal loss you are carrying. I will never forget the dance we shared at a wedding some years ago. He was a very good dancer - could hardly keep up with him! My prayers and condolences to the entire Rice family on the passing of Jerome. My Grandma, Olga was his oldest sister and always loved when Jerome and Ardis would visit her in San Diego.
