Sending my condolences to Evelyn's family. My Mom(Sylvia Olson) and Evelyn were friends since first grade. On my visits home to North Dakota we would always drive to Powers Lake. Evelyn was a face I always hoped I would see. She lit up the room with her smile and had so many stories. On my Mom's 90th. birthday, she arrived with a freshly made angel food cake! She was a SPECIAL lady.

We were sorry to hear of Evelyn's passing. Thinking of her brings back such good memories. But this I know for certain. I know where she is now and I will see her again one day. Love you guys.

Rest in peace Evelyn. I think Evelyn was the only person that had fresh donuts ready and waiting when we came to measure her house for taxes. Smiling and welcoming she also brought pillows and blankets to the senior center one cold stormy night so we were comfortable while waiting out a storm. Such a sweet lady.

To the family of Evelyn; Our sympathies for your loss, Evelyn was such a kind and wonderful person. I know that she was always very nice to me, she always insisted on making sure that I had some extra food when ever I came around to visit Byron. She was always fun to visit with at the senior citizens, and always had great food and donuts. She will be missed.

I remember Evelyn from High School days. Many years later my sister Shirley and I were in Powers Lake for a reunion, and she showed us around her house, where we had lived for about 5 years when it was the parsonage for Bethel Baptist Church. She and Herman had remodelled it and it was lovely. In 2013 one of my daughters and a daughter-in-law drove to PL to stay with Ardy for a few days, and she had Evelyn provide us with genuine lefse! I think we also had a taste of her wonderful pies when Delmar took us to visit Corinne. She remained one of my last connections to the place I still call my Home Town. Condolences to her family and many friends there.
