Pat was a beautiful lady! When I lived in Billings, I always made a point to stop and see her at the WIFE booth at the NILE and other shows she might be attending. We would talk about farming and Richland County goings-on. She and Dad (Al Schmitz) had a good friendship, with mutual interest in family farm issues. Deepest sympathy to Ken and the family. My prayers are with you all.

Prayers go out to Pat’s family. She was my first grade teacher and definitely one of my favorites! She kept in touch over the years especially meeting up at the fair to chat. Loved her smile and laugh! Rest easy Pat!

Your mom was such an inspiration to so many. She had more energy than 12 people! I've always admired her tenacity and willingness to be involved in so many important projects. If we could all be like her!

Was sad to read Pat's obituary today. She was my student teaching supervisor at Westside Elementary School in Sidney in about 1976. What an inspirational mentor did I have! She believed in the students having immediate feedback on their work so we would correct papers at recess so we could address the corrections with the students when they came in. She was truly devoted to her students learning and the classroom was full of student learning activities. I have never forgotten and have always appreciated the gift of having her for my supervising teacher. She lived a wonderfully active life...not one to be still too long! She won't stop I'm sure...she's just on to the next thing! Her memory brings me smiles.

We enjoyed the few years we spent with Pat and Ken in Chandler. Pat was very special and we loved listening to her stories. She had a wonderful sense of humor and we shared many "corny jokes". She taught us how to play Rummikub and we taught many others.
We will miss her.

Dear Kenny, Beth, Lewis and families, We are so sorry to have missed attending the memorial service for Pat. Dad took a spill and is hospitalized, but I caught the service online. Pastor Tim did a wonderful homage to the truly independent, loving spirit of your mom. I know she was an inspirational presence in my life, further cementing the message that women could do anything they set their minds to that my own mother also passed on to her children, girls and boys. Plus she was just a joy to talk to and, according to my parents, a wonderful traveling companion. She is very much missed, by those who knew her well and by her community at large where she built opportunities for all of us. May many happy memories continue to comfort you and inspire us. Sincere sympathies on your loss of an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and family member. Beth Redlin

sending much love to you Beth, Ken and your family…we so enjoyed your mom, though for a short time…she was always a teacher and a force of nature in the most wonderful of ways. We are grateful for the time we knew her and for meeting you and the rest of your family. Rest in peace Pat, and know you are imprinted on our hearts for always.
