Jack Ray Burgess
October 25, 1961 - February 25, 2019

Place of Birth: Jordan, MT
Residence: Sidney, MT
Age: 57

Jack Ray Burgess was born on October 25th, 1961 to Richard and Marie Burgess in Jordan, MT. He attended school in Jordan. He started his working life early making trips out to the family ranch to help where it was needed. After completing school he moved to Miles City, MT where he worked several jobs. Working by day at the Airport Inn he would walk 5-10 miles up the hill to cook, and then at night would bartend at the Sundance Inn. One night while bartending, on his 23rd birthday, he met Medora Fretland who was out with friends on college night. It was love at first sight, he would walk across town and wait until Medora was done with her classes. On May 25th, 1985 they were united in marriage in Miles City. To this union they were blessed with four children, Ray, Clara, Casey and Rachelle. Jack was a very hard working man, working various jobs througout his life from custom harvesting, construction to driving for the local taxi. As a family they enjoyed fishing, camping, and family trips. His favorite things in life were his family, his dog Tucker, Dale Earnhardt Sr, John Wayne, 60s, 70s, and 80s Music, his children’s friends whom he loved as his own, and most of all when he became a PaPa. His grandchildren were the lights of his life. There wasn't much more he loved more than those grandkids.
Jack left us all on Monday, February 25th, 2019 after a battle with kidney disease. Our beloved husband, dad, brother, uncle, Papa and friend will be forever missed, but will live on in our hearts.
He is survived by his loving wife, Medora Burgess, Sidney. Four children; Ray Burgess, Clara(Cole) Stenson, Casey Burgess and Rachelle Burgess, all of Sidney. Seven grandchildren; Aaliya and Kylie Burgess-Cruz, Anthoni McLaughlin, Kynlee Butler, Chasen Burgess, Maizy and Ty Stenson. Sisters Cathy(John) McKeever, Jordan, Mt. Joanne(Bob) Priebe, Helena, Mt. Brothers Daniel Burgess, Jordan,Mt. Robert Burgess, Jordan, Mt. and many neices and nephews as well as many ‘adoptive’ children.
