April 9, 1954 - March 30, 2019

Place of Birth: Berchtesgarden, Germany
Residence: Williston, ND, formerly of Gladstone, ND
Age: 64

Thomas "TJ" Joseph Lantz, 64, Williston, passed away at his residence in Williston, ND on March 30, 2019.

Thomas was born on April 9, 1954 in Berchtesgarden, Germany. At the young age of 15 months, he along with his twin sister was brought to the United States and they were adopted by William and Barbara Lantz of Rialto, CA.

Thomas was involved with Boy Scouts as a boy. He loved being outdoors and spending time up in the San Bernardino Mountains. Thomas would spend summers with his Uncle Frank Sickler in North Dakota. He then moved to North Dakota after graduation. Thomas married Gwendolyn Veitenheimer in November 1980. They raised 3 children Kristen, Leslie and Bart in Glen Ullin and Gladstone. He worked in the Oilfield for 31 years, 19 of them at B.J. Services. Thomas then moved to Williston to finish off his oilfield career.

During his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them to the park and fishing. Thomas was always tinkering with some kind of project. He had a green thumb and took pride in the garden he planted every year. In his spare time he would go through his coin collection and catch up on the newest movie releases.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristen (Shane) Stecher of New England, ND and grandchildren, McKoy, Ainsley and RyLynn; his daughter, Leslie (Joel) Schrum of Dickinson, ND and grandchildren, Desmond, Phaden, Kyron and Madigan; his son, Bart Lantz of Butte, MT; nephew, Brandon (Erin) Rhoades of CO and their children, Liam, Kieran and Zoe; and his twin sister, MaryBeth Rhoades of Rialto, CA.

He is preceded in death by his parents William and Barbara Lantz.

To the Family,
I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss. Losing my parent has been difficult for me.
However, I found this scripture helpful. It is what Jesus said at John5:28,29: “28Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;”
Hopefully thinking about what these verses state can help your family during this time as it has for me.
