Residence: Tioga, North Dakota

Michael Wiedmer, Sr. 57, of Tioga, North Dakota passed away at Tioga Medical Center in Tioga on Friday, April 5, 2019.

Michael Duane was born to Norman and Janice Wiedmer on August 23, 1961 in Lemmon, South Dakota. Early in his life the family moved to Tioga, North Dakota. Mike was very active in his youth with scouting, boxing and wrestling. He enjoyed sharing his memories of that time with his family and friends. Mike graduated from Tioga High School Class of 1980. Mikes family had large company called Wiedmer Brothers Well Service, Inc. During high school Mike followed his father's footsteps. He started his journey at the age of 16 where he flourished as a floorhand eventually operating his own rig at Wiedmer Brothers.

Shortly after high school, Mike became a father to five beautiful children. In the early 1990’s he moved to North Idaho and met the love of his life, Tracie. Mike and Tracie met during a pool league in 1993, first becoming friends then shortly thereafter they moved in together. In 2006 Mike and Tracie moved back to Tioga. In 2007, they became grandparents and the couples' happiest years of their lives started. Mike had nine grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart. After many happy years of courtship Mike and Tracie wed on January 31, 2012 in Williston, ND. They had been together for 25 years.

Mike never met a stranger; he was everybody’s friend. You could find Mike in his garage where he restored his 1981 Chevy with his two beloved sons or riding his ATV through the coulees with his family. Mike was an expert cook. He mastered everything from his Traeger to his stovetop. He loved to have a family bbq visiting over an ice-cold Bud light watching the sunset.

Mike was a respected, educated, and honored consultant with Frear Consulting. He had over 40 years of experience and expertise of the industry. His crew was like a second family whom relied on and trusted him. He will be missed by many.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Janice (Anderson) Wiedmer; and brothers, Bryon and Shawn Wiedmer.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years Tracie (Forester); his beloved children and their spouses, Dr. Katrina (Dan) Backus, Mike Wiedmer Jr., Sharise (Siegfried) Wiedmer, Amber Wiedmer and Chris (Alora) Wiedmer. He had 9 grandchildren, Scarlett (4), Brooklynn (9), Tyler (8), Grayson (4), Xylan (12), Kyra (8), AriAnna (10), Gage (2), and Norman (3). He was also survived by his dogs, Bear and Lexie Moon; cats, Tabitha and Ripley along with numerous family and friends.

My Condolences to Mikes family. I knew Mike thru work. I’m not going to lie, I was scared of him the first time I met him! He was wearing a pair of women’s reading glasses and I started teasing him about it, and have ever since! We always got a good laugh about it and he turned out to be one of my favorite buddy’s! May he Rest In Peace.
