Clara Agnes was born January 11, 1932 on a farm near Hitchcock, Saskatchewan, Canada to Noel and Cecelia Tessier. She attended grade school in Hitchcock and when she was 15 moved to Crosby, North Dakota with her family.

Clara returned to Williston where she met and married Les Stewart. Together they worked on the farm for many years until Les passed away in 1994. In her autobiography she wrote, “I love the farm and the country living”.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Marie Kramer of Apple Valley, MN; son, John Stewart (Lisa) of Williston, ND; grandchildren, Justin Stewart of Fargo, ND, Alyssa Lambert (Steven) of Loveland, CO, Tessa Stewart of Williston, ND, David Kramer (Haley) of Minneapolis, MN and Julia Kramer of Savage, MN; sister, Vivian Dolan of West Minister, CO.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Les; sons, James Stewart and Dale Stewart; and her parents.

Years ago I met Clara when we gave Fr. Aydt a ride to Grenora. to celebrate Mass. What fun we had---enjoying breakfast after Mass. Clara was in charge and put us to work when we got there!! She was so kind and delighted to meet all her new friends from Williston. All those who took turns taking Fr. Aydt met a new hard-working friend---Clara! She loved her church and practiced her God-given talent of being such a gracious hostess. She will be missed.

Oh, Marie!! We just found out about your mom! I ran into Sharon Aaberg Peterson at an Anniversary and she told me. We are so sad??. There was nothing in the papers so had no idea. And we'd heard nothing about her illness or we'd have been to visit her. I'm SO sorry. She was such a good neighbor and friend to Evelyn. We talked to her at Hulda's funeral. She was always fun to visit with and so happy. Our sincere sympathy to you and your family. We'd like to give a memorial if you would let us know a preference.
