I am so sorry I could not attend the funeral Saturday, as I was at meetings in Pierre SD.
Jim, was a student of mine during the 1970 -73 school years in Wibaux. He not only was a joy to know, but he also was serious about school. We were able to see each other over the years, and I always appreciated visiting with him. I pray that God will continue to comfort you, Laura, and family.

Laura, Cole, and Family: Jim was a blessing to me. From our meeting at DSC, our adventures in dorms and rodeos and outdoors and in classes, his insight into the writing of so many of us made what we did better (his honesty was one of the best gifts anyone ever gave me), his collaboration helped WHS and UND-W heal their relations for their students, his leadership guided so many districts, staff, and students. A dynamic, humble, creative light has gone out; may we light up that which remains with his incredible memory and celebration of his life.
