Carla Rae Desjarlais
July 25, 1960 - October 1, 2019

Place of Birth: Poplar, Montana
Residence: Sidney, MT
Age: 59

Carla was born July 25, 1960 in Poplar, MT to Bertha Desjarlais and Francis Beauchamp. She grew up and attended school in Montana and California. When Carla was 17, she met Gustavo Velasco and had a daughter Jamie Lynn. They resided in California until 1979 before moving back to Montana, where she lived in Harlowton, MT. In 1985, Carla moved to Sidney where she met David Danielson and they had three kids, Kevin, Rocky and Brooke. Carla loved Sidney from the moment she arrived here, besides 2 years in Mandan, ND, and 1½ years in Williston, ND, she was very proud to call Sidney her home.
Carla liked to do crossword puzzles, play cards, play bingo but Carla especially loved to play pool, it was her favorite thing to do. Almost her whole family played and they liked to all play against each other. She was on a pool league team for many years, and that was her happiest time. Most of all, Carla was an Elvis fan. She loved to watch his movies, listen to his music, and collect anything with Elvis on it. She had a big collection of Elvis memorabilia. She said he was the most handsome man she ever saw.
Carla is survived by her 4 children, daughters; Jamie & Brooke both of Sidney, MT, sons; Kevin & Rocky both of Sidney, MT, and her granddaughter Sophia. A favorite niece, Marcy, who “played pool with me, cooked me great meals, made my birthdays awesome, took me gambling, or just hung out with me. I love you, Marcy, thanks for everything, Love, Aunt LaLa.” Another niece, Lacy LaRoque, “who was close to my heart. She was very kind and loving to me, played cards with me until the wee hours or just sat and kept me company. Love you always, Auntie Carla.”
Carla is also survived by her sisters; Diane (Lee) Good, Sandpoint, ID, Frannie (LeRoy) Amundson, Sidney, MT. Her brother; Alan (Ida) Desjarlais, Sidney, MT, Ronnie (Deana) Worden, MT, Robert Desjarlais, Billings, MT, Shane (Amanda) Desjarlais, Sidney, MT.
Carla was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alice and Roger Desjarlais, mother Bertha Desjarlais, sister, Jackie Desjarlais, and a nephew Dylan Kellum.
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Carla went home to the Lord October 1, 2019. Thanks to Dr. Pederson and all the angels at the Cancer Center and Hospice, a special thanks to Jill and Wanda for taking care of Carla.

My heart and prayers go out to guys! I remember her coming over for years and we would play games and she was always there to help me out, even if I did not ask she came over to help.

She told me a story one time about her mom and the sunrise and sunset. After being clean the sunrise and sunset became my inspiration to stay clean, she told me that her mother said whenever the sky’s a pink that it means that tomorrow is going to a beautiful day. Every time I look at the sunrise and the sunset I will think of Carla.

Our family will truly miss her.
