Vern Helgy Sherven was born October 16, 1930 to Helgy and Marin Marie Robertson Sherven in Charlson, ND. He was a farmer for most of his life on the family farm. Vern was a history buff, especially local history that had to do with the Lewis and Clark Trail and Theodore Roosevelt. Vern was a seasoned welder, fabricator, and inventor who held a patent on a safety device for dump trucks still seen on them to this day. He loved his old cars and traveling whenever he got the chance.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents Helgy and Marin.
He is survived by a nephew Neil (Linda) Sherven of Oroville, CA, great nieces Bailee and Hollie Sherven, Jennifer Houston, and great nephew Chris Skelecke.
