Duane R. Lalim, Jr. 64, of Tioga, ND, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019, at Tioga Medical Center Long Term Care in Tioga, ND.

Duane was born in Stanley, ND on April 13, 1955 and at a very young age his family moved to Auburn, Washington. He attended Auburn High School where he was a state champion wrestler and graduated in 1973. During his high school years, Duane returned to Tioga each summer to work in the oil fields while staying with his grandparents, Iver and Mildred Lalim. Duane was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, and hunting. There was always “the buck he never got.” He also loved to watch old westerns and Everybody Loves Raymond. He had a fun sense of humor and always loved a good joke or prank.

In 1976, he married Kim (Meyer) Humphreys and they made their home in Tioga. To this union three beautiful girls were born. Their union unfortunately dissolved in 1990. Duane was extremely proud of his daughters and grandchildren.

Duane is survived by his daughters, Amber (Scott) Steffen; Angela (Phil) Gustafson and Ashley (Kyler) Macy; grandchildren, Reese, Rylee and Ryann Steffen; Regan and Lyndon Gustafson; McKenna Herrera, Mariah and Madisyn Macy; his mother, Dorothy (Skaar) Davis; sisters, Julie (Howie) Herman and Yvonne (Travis) Mulrooney. He is preceded in death by his father’s, Duane Lalim, Sr. and Arlen Davis; grandparents, Iver and Mildred Lalim, Lars and Bertha Skaar, and Tony and Theresa Davis.

I have a little story to tell. The 1st time I met Dewey I was bartending. He came into the bar with Leroy (who I married several years later)and SaId "Mame, could I get a beer?" I laid all over him for calling me ma'm. Don't you dare call me ma'm-My name is Phyllis. He just stood there looking at me funny. I thought Leroy had put him up to calling me ma'm. Everyone knew to call me Phyllis . Poor Dewey ! we laughed over that many times over the years. I shall miss him He was a good guy.
