We so enjoyed it when Georgia would stop in for copies at our print shop in Sidney. My daughter and I loved the stories she would tell. The copies we made for her were always of something very interesting and discussion would follow. We missed her when she could no longer stop in. Such grace and intelligence. Rest in peace, Georgia - our sympathies to the family.

I was saddened to hear of Georgia's passing. She used to come to my antique shop, always looking for something special for her in niece. She was such a kind and gentle women who was a joy to know. I hadn't seen her in a long time, but a friend kept me informed of Georgia's well-being. God has a special angel. May she rest in
Peace.

Georgia was a wonderful third grade teacher in Sidney. We were so fortunate to have her in the school system. A highlight in a third grader’s day was reading time when Georgia would read a chapter from Little House on the Prairie books daily. She taught me a love for reading that is still with me today.
Rest In Peace, Georgia.

Georgia was a legend at West Side School making learning an unforgettable experience for every student. Many young people benefited from her wealth of knowledge of life's lessons. We were privileged to have her and Oscar as friends. She will be remembered fondly in this community. My sympathy to her family in the loss of a real gem!

Paul and I had the pleasure to serve Georgia and Oscar’s dental needs. They were a delightful couple and after Oscar’s passing that relationship continued. As others have said, Georgia had many stories to tell. One of my favorites was when Georgia asked Oscar how he liked her hair? His response, “When you comb it before breakfast.”has served me well.” May she be rejoined with Oscar and weave on .,I treasure the green mittens she made with thumbs repairs still intact.

Georgia Petersen was my 3rd grade teacher at West Side Elementary. She was such a wonderful person. At school I got bullied because of my size and always wanted to be bigger. She took me aside and put a nickel and a dime on the desk and asked me what I would rather have. I told her the dime. She said see. Sometimes smaller things are better than bigger things. Beautiful Lady.

Georgia is one whose faith in and knowledge of her Savior never wavered. Having known her for over 63 years and being a member of the same congregation at Trinity Lutheran Church all those years, I knew her staunch beliefs and ideals to be solid and forward looking. Her last years were not what Georgia planned to go through so I know she is happy to be among the "multitude" giving praise to the Savior in glory.

Georgia was an amazing teacher, so caring and inspiring. The best thing about being 8 years old was being in her third grade classroom. She brought the Little House books to life after lunch each day, and she conveyed the value, reverence, and joy of everything she taught. I treasure fond memories of learning to churn butter, striving for beautiful penmanship, and having her niece visit our classroom, and so much about that year. Her positive influence lives on in all of us who were so fortunate to be her students at West Side.

I was a very fortunate child that benefitted from Mrs. Peterson’s 3rd grade class. I loved the Little House books. She read them to the class and brought them to life. She had such a kind heart. Her love for her job and her students was obvious every day. I actually looked forward to going to school every morning. She was such a positive influence in my life. I always made it a point to see her when I was in town. I was so heartbroken to learn of her passing. My sympathies go out to her loved ones.
