Jacque Dennis Wing
September 16, 1940 - July 2, 2020

Place of Birth: Stanley, North Dakota
Residence: Stanley, North Dakota
Age: 79

Jacque was born September 16, 1940 in Stanley, ND to Harlan and Evelyn Wing. He had 4 brothers, Jerry, Dick, Hap and Skip. He graduated from Stanley High School and went to Moler Barber College in Fargo. Later on, he went to Western College of Auctioneering in Billings Montana. He was owner and operator of Jacques Barber Shop, the West Side Lounge, Wing’s Auction Service, read meters for Mountrail Williams Electric and owned a farm where he raised cattle.

Jacque truly loved Stanley North Dakota. He did many years of community service where he was a councilman, mayor, Jaycee’s member, roping club, a founding member of the ambulance service and more. He announced the Stanley 4th of July parade for over 40 years.

Jacque loved horses, cattle and ranching. His auctioneer days consisted of estate auctions and cattle auctions at Sitting Bull Auction in Williston. He was a HUGE Vikings fan, Twins fan and Bison football fan. He loved Purple Martins, watching his garden grow, playing cards and cribbage. Many hours in the barber shop were spent playing cribbage with his buddies. He loved his life. His days consisted of visiting Skip in his office, cruising main on Whiplash, and going to the casino to play 3-card poker and slot machines.

Jacque was truly an amazing dad and grandpa. His family was the most important thing in his life, including Whiplash. The streets of Stanley will be quieter without Jacque riding Whiplash all over town, something he loved to do. He loved spending time with his kids and taking pictures at family events. The walls in his house were fully covered with pictures of kids and grandkids.

Jacque is preceded in death by his parents Harlan and Evelyn Wing, Brothers Jerry, Hap and Dick. His surviving brother Skip lives in Stanley and maintained a close relationship for all of his life. His son Scott lives in Minneapolis with wife Jennifer and Callie (16) and Bradley (13). His daughter Lisa lives in DeMoines, Iowa with husband Dave. Her sons Joshua(28) and Jorey(25) live and work in North Dakota.
Thank You
The family would like to thank the Trinity hospital system for the excellent care Jacque received in the last few months of his life. From the Trinity Cancer Center to the Trinity Hospital to the Trinity Nursing Home, his care team was caring and well-coordinated. They went above and beyond in many instances and we are extremely grateful.

Dear Scott Lisa and Family,
May our awesome God bless you and keep you in His care as you grieve. For the past several years Allen and I looked forward to Jacques call wondering if I had started his buttercup squash plants. We are so thankful, Lisa, that you and Jacque made it out this year. Your dad had a personality that was way larger than life; always so full of fun and humor; the 4th of July parade will never be the same without your dad as mc. I’m certain he will keep all the saints in heaven laughing!! Love and prayers, Allen and Debbie

Scott and Lisa, You were both little kids when we lived in Stanley but your Dad was one of our favorite people! Terry would always play checkers with Jacque when he got his hair cut! Whenever we went through Stanley we would usually stop in and see him! We will be thinking of your family and will keep you in our prayers!

Scott, Lisa and families,
I’m so sorry to hear about your Dad. Uncle Jacque will always be remembered. My childhood trips to Stanley were never complete without a stop at the barbershop. I never saw him without a smile on his face. My last trip to Stanley even included a ride on the Gator!! Thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Jack was a real character. I worked with him at Sitting Bull Auction, penning back cattle. He was always watching out for me, telling me to "get on the fence" if a wild cow/bull was coming down the alley. He was a good person ,a hard worker with a great sense of humor. So sorry for your loss.

Scott & Lisa,
Stanley lost a great guy Jack always had the ability to raise everyone’s spirits . I remember many haircuts in the old, old, post office building now Mell & Assoc. We also bought his grandparents house and used to joke about his grandmothers spirit watching us Ranum kids! Your dad was a special guy and will be missed by all of us.
