LaVerne O. Johnson, 91 of Tioga, ND passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Tioga Medical Center in Tioga, ND.

Laverne O. Johnson, “Vernie” was born May 10, 1929 north of Tioga, ND to Ole and Hannah (Otteson) Johnson. He attended school in Tioga, ND. On June 3, 1951, he married the love of his life, Lyla Blikre at the Ray Parsonage. They lived most of their lives in Tioga, ND. They have four sons, Lee Wayne, Duane, Gene and Vern.

He farmed and worked for Amerada/Hess until he retired in his late 50’s. He enjoyed his family, friends, fishing and traveling south during the winter months.

Vernie attended Zion Lutheran Church in Tioga.
He will be greatly missed and never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lyla; his parents, Ole and Hannah Johnson; sisters, Luella, Gladys, Pearl, Phyllis; brothers, Homer, Roy, Clifford and Donald.

He is survived by his four sons; Lee Wayne (Tioga), Duane (Crosby), Gene (Robbie) Tioga and Vern (Teresa) Gillette, WY, eight grandchildren; Matthew, Sheila, Robbi, Shelby, Taylor, Brandon, Dustin and Jarrod, seven great-grandchildren; Greenlee, Carter, Miles, Henley, Everly, Jakob and Berkley; brothers-in-law, Kent Blikre (Williston) and Dean Blikre (Minot) and sister-in-law, Carol Tande (Lake Havasu City, AZ) and Marilyn Blikre.
