It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Carl Larsen
April 17, 1932 - August 5, 2020

Residence: Ray, North Dakota

Carl LeRoy Larsen died peacefully on August 5th, 2020 holding his wife’s hand; surrounded by some of his favorite nurses at Tioga Medical Center in Tioga, ND.

Carl was born April 17th, 1932 to Carl Sr. & Olga Larsen at their home in Columbus, ND. He attended school and graduated as a Columbus Cougar in 1950. His favorite memory that year was winning the ND Class C Basketball Tournament.

After high school, Carl joined the United States Army and served 30 months in AA Automatic Weapons Crew. He attended Basic Airborne Infantry Training and was awarded a Parachute Badge. In addition, he received a National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Carl was honorably discharged in 1954. Carl moved home and married the love of his life on May 27th, 1961, LeAnn Belisle. She was by his side for 59 years, waiting on him hand and foot. We can still hear him say “LeAnn” from his recliner.

Carl & LeAnn established their home in Ray, ND and raised two daughters, DeMaris and Lisa. His first granddaughter, Julia, came into the world in 1989 and his life as a doting Grandpa began. He worked and retired at NCC Telephone Company in Ray after 38 years. After retirement, Carl bought a 5th wheel camper and they wintered in Lake Havasu, spending a lot of time with friends in the warm Arizona sun. Carl continued to be blessed by grandchildren, Cody & Emmalee in 1996. He was especially proud of his great-grandchildren; Ava, Conor & Carsten Carl. He loved spending time with them, he always said they are what kept him going. They were lucky to have a special playdate 4 days before he passed full of laughter, high 5’s, and bubbles.

Carl enjoyed golfing, morning coffee and cribbage at Gas-N-All, and telling stories to anyone who would listen. He loved to fish and hunt. An annual highlight was vacationing in Kenosee Lake, Saskatchewan with his sister Carol and her family. Good times full of campfires, beer and sticky buns.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, LeAnn; his daughter, DeMaris (Terry) Gill of Sheboygan, WI; his granddaughters, Julia (Landon) Jones of Stanley, ND; Emmalee (Jacob) Denlinger of Germantown, OH; grandson, Cody Ennen of Ray, ND; three great-grandchildren, Ava, Conor and Carsten; his sister, Joan Mitchell of Christchurch, New Zealand and several nieces and nephews.

Carl is proceeded in death by his daughter, Lisa Larsen; parents, Olga & Carl Larsen; brothers, Einar, Carlos and Floyd; and sister, Carol Amundson.

One of my favorite guys...the wonderful face with NCC Ray. I think he knew the good share of the service area. I also connect with Carl as his sister taught in Plentywood MT. I didn't have her for my teacher, but the students that did, loved her. Rest in peace...

LeeAnn you have another love in heaven. I knew your mother-in-law from my years living with my grandmother Elsie Boen. They were very good friends and we had tea or coffee together often. I enjoyed Olga so much with her Danish Brogue. One Dane to another. Blessings
