Kenneth H. Woessner was born June 9, 1926, the oldest of 5 children of Herman and Christine (Jacobson) Woessner at Belden, ND. He was raised on the family farm and attended the Dymond School until the 6th grade when he stayed home to help his family farm. He then attended a trade school in Wahpeton, ND. When he wasn’t helping out on the farm, you could find him in the makeshift workshop that his dad built for him so he could do wood working. Ken built cabinets and various pieces of furniture for his family and friends. He was united in marriage to Darlene Henseler at Riverdale, ND, on November 18, 1952. Ken joined the Army and was trained at Ft. Leonardwood and served until he was honorably discharged on June 8, 1956. During his service, he was a radio operator stationed in the Korean War.

Ken and Darlene moved their family to Parshall in 1958. During his life in Parshall, he traveled faithfully every day to the farm at Belden to help his parents with the farming and cattle. He worked with Delton Snyder pouring Redi-Mix Cement for 5 years. He worked for Schroeder Motors, Hedberg Ford, and Beyer Ford, repairing vehicles while helping out with the farming. He was also an active volunteer fireman in Parshall and a member of the First Lutheran Church of Parshall.
During the night life you could find him and the Girls, Virginia Eisenzimmer, Joan Boechler, and Sylvia Enockson entertaining the local patrons with their music. He then joined with Harlan Olson playing in their band at local establishments. Ken enjoyed playing the drums, piano, guitar, banjo, harmonica, and accordion.

Ken was an all-around handyman. You could find him painting trucks and working for many farmers in the area. He could rebuild engines and cylinder heads and passed this down to his youngest son.

After the passing of his father, Ken continued to farm the land he grew up on. During the winter months he worked for Mountrail County repairing roads. He was active in the Arthur Solie Post #121 in Parshall and became the Commander, a position which he was very proud of. After the Bands, he called Bingo for the Parshall American Legion for many years. Ken retired from farming in 2016 at the young age of 90. Although he was retired, you would find him wandering out to the farm to check and make sure everything was still getting done. Ken and Darlene moved to Centennial Court Independent Living Center in Stanley in 2020 and Ken was recently moved to the Benedictine Living Community in Garrison, ND.

Kenneth passed away peacefully on October 13, 2021, and leaves behind his loving family; Wife, Darlene (Stanley); Children, Anthony ( Andrea) Woessner, Bentonville, AR, Connie (John) Sveen, New Town, ND, Becky (Richard) Fairbanks, Mandan, ND, Todd (Kelly) Woessner, Parshall, ND; Grand Children, Christopher (Misty) Fairbanks; Great Grandchildren, Michael and Byron, Spokane, WA; Grand Children, Michael (Kallyn) Woessner; Great Grandchildren, Keeley Woessner, Arlan Woessner, Gilby, ND; Grand Children, Leigh (Caleb) Miller; Great Grandchild, Christian Miller, Iowa Falls, IA; Grand Children, Katie Woessner; Great Grandchild, AJ Woessner, Fargo, ND; Sister, Lucille Ofsthun, Minot, ND; Brother-in-law, Johnnie Locken, Stanley, ND; and cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended Family.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; Sister and Brother-in-law, Genevieve (Harlan) Lyson; Brother and Sister-in-law, Donald (Delores) Woessner; Sister, Ione Locken; Brother-in-law, Marlo Ofsthun.
