Marlene was born in the old town of Sanish, North Dakota on October 24, 1933 to her parents Lawrence and Myrtle Holmberg. She attended and graduated from Sanish High School. Marlene along with her parents and older brother Rolland lived on the family homestead for many years. In 1965 the family moved to Stanley, North Dakota where they made their home and worked in the area.

Marlene had a passionate love for animals which started as a child and continued through her adult life. Her faithful friend KitKit was an ever-present companion in her life, and was always with her.
Marlene was a true treasure and it was an honor to have been able to know her and be her friend. Special thanks to Giving Hearts Home Care, LLC for taking such great care of her and being there for her whatever need arose.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents; Lawrence G. Holmberg and Myrtle (McLean) Holmberg; brother, Rolland Holmberg.

It was truly an honor to be Marlene’s friend. She was a selfless sweetheart. She lovingly cared for her parents as they aged & was devastated when they passed away, as she was when Rolland passed away. As was mentioned, she really loved her kitty cats, even those that had no owner. She also had a strong faith in God & looked to him for guidance. We will miss her!

Marlene was a wonderful lady with great faith in God and the Bible's hope for the future. Rest in peace Marlene and see you in Paradise.

Marlene was wonderful neighbor. She had a caring heart for all animals especially her cats. Rest easy neighbor
