Davis Jon Mongram, 63, of New Town, ND passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at his residence in New Town. He was born December 17, 1958 in Watford City to his parents Leon and Polly (Standish) Mongram.
Davis attended grade school in Fort Yates and attended High School in Mandaree. He won many awards for his running and basketball talents. He broke state records in his running career. After graduation he continued to contribute his time to the high school. He coached for the Mandaree High School track and was able to work with his many nieces and nephews. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp.; Davis worked as a carpenter and went to college at UND-Williston. Attended Iron working school in Chicago, IL. He worked various places in Minot, Williston, and Trenton in construction. Davis enjoyed saddle bronc riding, he loved to be around horses, and ranched with his brother Herman, up until his last days.
Despite all of his accomplishments and success, his biggest pride and joy was his family. He held many titles and roles over his lifetime, his most important role was being a father and grandfather. He had a close connection with his grandchildren and fought to keep them close to him. His grandson Wyatt was his side kick and Davis raised him from the time he was two weeks old.
He will be missed by so many for his genuine soul and kind heart. If you were blessed to be in his path, you gained a friend and were family for life.
Davis is survived by his brother Herman Mongram, daughters Tanya Mongram and Ashley Erickson, grandchildren Rod Mongram, Lanell Mongram-Kramer, Wyatt Mongram, Madison Ramirez, Sacilia Mongram, Daniel Mongram, and great grandson Andre Mongram;
Neices and nephews: Vanessa (Clint) Hardy, Bessie Mongram, Sarah Garrett, Rosemarie (Jose) Gonzalez, Merlin (Samantha) RedFeather, WambleeWea (Jeremiah) Bromilow.
Terri (Chancy) Kittson, Jeanne (Doug) Arrow Top, Beau (Brenda) Lindberg, Jordan (Ashana) Lindberg; Bernice (Ben) DuBois, Terry (Milton) Beston, Desiree Mongram, BJ Mongram.
All of his extended family that includes cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that he loved dearly.
Davis is proceeded in death by his parents Polly (Standish) and Leon Mongram, his brother Ralph Lindberg, sister Evangeline Mongram.
