Allen Eugene Erickson
June 13, 1951 - January 15, 2023

Residence: Battleview, North Dakota

Allen Eugene Erickson, 71, of Powers Lake, North Dakota passed on January 15, 2023 away at the Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota surrounded by his family after a sudden battle with cancer.

Allen was born on June 13, 1951 to Esther and Albert Erickson in Minot, ND. After graduating from Powers Lake High School in 1969, he briefly attended college at Wahpeton, ND on a football scholarship. He then decided to move to Denver, CO for a short time working to install underground telephone lines. He moved back to Powers Lake in 1971 and took over running the family farm. He married Deborah (Anderson) Erickson on April 6, 1973, going on to raise 7 children.

Allen spent most of his working years farming and ranching. The farm was a great source of pride for him. He also loved his postal job. He often told his family and friends neither snow nor rain would keep him from trying to deliver the mail. He was a great friend to many and was there to help, listen and support people, often when they were dealing with difficult times. Above all, Allen’s greatest source of pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He built the Eagles Nest, his cabin, for his family to hunt, stay and enjoy a piece of his legacy.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Esther and Albert Erickson; his grandparents, John and Tilda Erickson, and Embret and Helena Knoshaug; many aunts and uncles and several nieces and nephews.

Allen is survived by his wife, Deborah (Powers Lake, ND); 7 children, Wayne Heglund (Kenmare, ND), Tyra (Darby) Heinert (Jamestown, ND), Crystal (Dewey) Stegmiller (Fargo, ND), Dawn Jordan (Surprise, AZ), Amber (Kelly) Bossert (Bismarck, ND), Brandon (Susie) Erickson (Powers Lake, ND), and Aaron (Sara) Erickson (Powers Lake, ND); 17 grandchildren, Bailey, Jada, Zachary, Caden, Nathan, Nic, Daelyn, Autumn, Lucas, Katelyn, Kynlee, Devin, Rossen, Aaden, Keira, Leah, and Hale; 2 Siblings, Diane (Roger) Johnson (Dickinson, ND), Darol (Donna) Erickson (Barrett, MN); and many nieces and nephews.

We are so sorry for the loss of your husband, father, brother, uncle, and beloved grandfather. I don’t remember a time when, seeing Al, that he wasn’t laughing about something or telling a story. He was a wonderful man and we’re lucky to have known him. The entire Erickson family is in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathies.
Allen will be greatly missed, his humor, ready grin and chuckle. His kindness.
It was an honor to have been able to work with him.
