Trudy Lynn Bergstrom
July 27, 1956 - April 7, 2023

Place of Birth: Minot, North Dakota
Residence: Tioga, North Dakota
Age: 66

Trudy passed away Friday, April 7th, 2023 in Bismarck, ND surrounded by her family.

Trudy was born Friday, July 27, 1956 in Minot, ND to Charles William Heidbreder and Elaine Marie (Patterson) Heidbreder. She grew up in Stanley, ND with her four other siblings.

Trudy graduated Stanley High School in 1974. During this time, she helped babysit the neighborhood kids and helped her mom with the four younger siblings. She also worked at the Tioga swimming pool, teaching others to swim. Ironically, neither of her sons could swim!

Trudy started her long career of being a caregiver at Tioga Nursing Home in 1975, where she met Darryl Lee Bergstrom on January 1, 1976. They were married Saturday, September 25, 1976 in Ross. They moved to the Bergstrom family farm south of Tioga, where she helped around the farm while also working at the Tioga Nursing Home, Tri-City Cares, Cenex, and TIC doing road construction.

Trudy and Darryl started their family in August of 1977 with Tracy, later adding Travis in June of 1981. Keeping two growing boys well fed and clothed was very important to her. Daughter-in-law Paula (Engel) was added in 2002 marrying Travis. Bonita (Fixen) married Tracy in 2008.

Nine years ago Trudy was upgraded from wife and mother to grandma when Charlie Lewis was born to Tracy and Bonita. She loved talking to everyone about Charlie. She was so proud of his hockey and hunting.

Trudy is survived by her loving husband, Darryl; sons, Tracy and Bonita (Fixen), their son Charlie; and Travis and Paula (Engel); brothers, Todd (Celeste) Heidbreder and Ward (Julie) Heidbreder; sister, Bonnie (Ole) Bergan; in-laws, Corvin (Darlene) Bergstrom, Colleen (Larry) Platz, Carole (Terry) Herbert, Brian (Meg) Bergstrom and Jodeen Bergstrom; nieces and nephews, Tiffany, Tesha, Cory, Calli, Christa, Kim, Brandon, Brenna, Mathew, Shia, Francis, Madawna, Marshal, Dallas, Brenda, Kimberly, Michael, Jeremy, Chelsy, Shelby, Haylie, Tayla, and Mckenzy; aunt, Roberta Dodson and many cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; daughter, Kayla Bergstrom; brother, Jay Heidbreder; in-laws, Clinton and Vera Bergstrom; sister in-law, Barbra Bergstrom; niece, Carah Quamme; nephews, Kyle Bergen, Jerrad Lund, and Tyler Lund.

When someone passes so unexpectedly and way too soon it is difficult to find words that bring comfort. God is the true comforter. The grieving process is just that…a process. We are praying for you to feel the loving presence of God Almighty as you go through this process. Trudy was genuinely a selfless person. She gave from her heart and out of love. She was a real blessing to all the family. She will be missed.

This is so difficult to comprehend, knowing not that long ago we visited over the phone and at the grocery store. I wish there were words that truly express our most sincere, deepest sympathies. We were neighbors since before you two were wed, we were there for each other and stayed close friends. My heart aches with yours Darryl, along with your kid's Tracey and Travis. Life long friends are hard to find, but losing one is even harder. GOD BE WITH YOU.

Our hearts and prayers go out to all of Trudy’s family and friends. She was always willing to help out. I remember when my sweet mother-in-law, Gail DeMoe, passed away and we realized Gail had the backseat of her car full of flowers to plant that she hasn’t got a chance to do. Trudy knew that Gail would’ve wanted those flowers planted and planted every one of them. (If you knew the love that Gail had for her flowers…. There were many) Rest in peace Trudy as you are surrounded by a beautiful garden in your eternal home. Please greet all of our other angels in Heaven
