Michael “Mike” Dooley went on his last journey in August 2022. He was born to Orville D. Dooley and Dorothy M. (Christensen) Dooley, the first of 6 children. Mike grew up in Sidney, MT except for 2 years spent in Forsyth, MT. He graduated from Sidney High School and enlisted in the United States Marines. He graduated from boot camp and just a few days before being shipped out to Viet Nam, he blew out his knee. He was later discharged from the service and came back to Montana. Mike worked and went on many adventures throughout Montana and finally settled in Billings working at the Metra. He then followed a supervisor to Pocatello, Idaho to work at the university as head of concessions for over 21 years.
When Mike retired he stayed in Pocatello where he owned a home but his heart was always in Montana. He wanted to move back to the mountains. Mike loved to fish and hike and take photos of the great outdoors. He always had the most wonderful stories and could keep you laughing for hours. Mike lived his life his way and was a very simple man but always loved a family gathering. He is in the light now and on a new journey.
Mike is survived by his 5 siblings, Kathleen (Byron) Owens, Patrick Dooley, Tom (Shane) Dooley, Todd Dooley and Susan (Duane) Haugen and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Michael’s ashes will be placed with his mother, Dorothy at the Sidney cemetery on May 17th at 1:00 p.m.. Just a prayer, a few words and goodbye, per his wishes.
