It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Earling W. Johnson
July 23, 1929 - May 2, 2023

Place of Birth: Granville, North Dakota
Residence: Dickinson, ND formerly of Stanley, ND
Age: 93

Earling William Johnson of Dickinson, ND passed away May 2, 2023 at the age of 93 surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 23, 1929 on the Johnson farm in Granville, ND, Earling was the son of Mabel (Latendresse) and Arthur Johnson. He married the love of his life, Jeanette Kutt from Upham on January 10, 1951. He was a devoted husband and a hardworking father. Together, Earling and Jean raised 16 children, and were blessed with 32 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

In his younger years, Earling worked as a mechanic and a farmer. He enjoyed fishing, pool, darts and playing games gathered around the table. Although Earling’s formal education ended at 8th grade, he was a lifelong learner, quite possibly earning the equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in botany, with a minor in tomato studies. A great day for him would be spending time digging in the dirt; planting, weeding, diagnosing and studying plant diseases and pest control or monitoring soil temperature and plant yield. Earling delighted in sharing his knowledge.

Earling will be deeply missed by many, including his children, Bobby (Colleen), Roger, Beverly, Milo, Daniel, Kelan, Jerome, Anthony (Kris), Juliann (Chris), Mari (Troy), Craig, (Melissa) Lorelle (Karl), Thomas, Donella, and Aaron; his siblings, Vernon (Delores), Marlyn (Katy), Darlene Nix (Fred), Sally Ackerman and Carol Mulholland (Bob); and sister-in-law, Evelyn Schell; as well as the friends he made at Evergreen Senior Living.

Earling was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; son, Warren; and son in law, Carter Lunde; brothers, Ronnie, Leroy, Bud and Myron; sisters, Arlyss and Myrt.

May God grant him a perfect rest.

Remembering the Granville Johnson neighbors today, they went to the same country school as I and my siblings. What a long, good life Erling had.

My sincere sympathy to Earling and Jean's family. I will always remember my cousin, Earling as a friendly, caring, man. I do remember the huge garden they used to plant and card games at Aunt Mabel's. God Bless.
