Frank Jasper Yellow Wolf was born July 17th, 1971, in Watford City, North Dakota to Hazel White Owl and Raymond Yellow Wolf Sr. Frank was a child of the Me?Cirooga (Knife Clan) and the Awaxe (Dripping Dirt Clan).
Frank attended and graduated from Mandaree Public School. He took pride in his academic achievements. Frank enjoyed participating in many school activities such as basketball, football, shop class, and had a passion for playing in the school band. The trumpet was his instrument throughout his high school career. He played for the school pep band, the marching band, the jazz band, and choir as well. Frank was elected class president. He was on the student council, the Gifted and Talented, and he was also on the National Honors Society. Frank attended Upward Bound at NDSU four summers in a row. He also won many science awards throughout his attendance at Mandaree School. Frank went on to be the valedictorian for the graduating class of 1989.
Frank met Eleanor White Body and from this relationship they had their daughter Janice Yellow Wolf.
Frank met Lynn Starr; they married in 1996. From this union he raised Violet, Timothy, Emitt, and Monika as his own with Lynn. Since 2001, Frank and Lynn have taken in over 86 children through Foster and Family placement. Frank and Lynn also adopted Stormey, Thunder, Natalie and Melody Yellow Wolf. Together Frank and Lynn shared a passion for raising foster children. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Frank never missed the opportunity to take his grandchildren on a scooter ride. He enjoyed his Sunday drives to Minot to eat. Frank also loved to throw his music on and jam out with his kids. He loved spending time playing his PlayStation games. Rock band was also one of his favorite video games to play.
Frank had a few different occupations through his life. A few included Four Bears Casino Security (as well as Slots and Count Team), Flandreau Casino Security, T.A.T Security, and the Mandaree Electronics. He began working with the Gerald Tex Fox Justice Center. He then decided to attend law enforcement training. By October 31st, 2007, Frank had graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, New Mexico.
Frank will always be remembered as the caring, big-hearted, “Gentle Giant”, as his aunts would call him. Many know him for his sense of humor, his intellect, and his kindhearted spirit. Frank will be forever remembered for his kindness and humbleness; he will be truly missed by all who crossed his life path.
