It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Donald Dean Bonner
January 3, 1950 - March 6, 2024

Place of Birth: Sidney, Montana
Residence: Crane, Montana
Age: 74

Donald Dean Bonner, affectionately known as Donnie, was born on January 3, 1950, in Sidney, Montana, and passed away on March 6, 2024, in Billings, Montana.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kayrene Bonner Roberts, of Crane, Montana; sisters Corina Segmiller of Laurel, Montana, Georgene Owens. As well as his brother-in-law Rod and Jackie Roberts of Billings, Montana; Judy Candee of Sidney, Montana; and many nieces and nephews from around the United States.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Marie Bonner, his parents Donnald Frank Bonner and Emma Scheetz Bonner, and his in-laws Jess and Helen Norby Roberts.

Donnie graduated from Sidney High School in the Class of 1968. Donnie proudly served in the US Navy, joining on August 5, 1969, and serving as a sailor on the USS Wexford during the Vietnam War.

Throughout his life, Donnie worked in various roles, starting as a bag boy at Reynolds and later finding his passion in the electrical field. He worked for REA as a lineman, started his own business, D & R Trenching, with his brother-in-law Rod Roberts, and later worked for MDU as a lineman and supervisor. He was known for his dedication to his co-workers and the pride he had in his profession. One of his favorites was the Fort Peck Dam lighting project.

Family was paramount to Donnie. He married Kayrene on December 15, 1973, and together they built a life in Crane, Montana. They welcomed their beautiful daughter Dawn Marie Bonner on July 15th, 1974. Donnie was always ready to lend a helping hand and had a heart of gold, despite his Grumpy Grizzly Bear persona. He was a master chef known as "Donnie Flay," cooking up delicious dishes like fried chicken, “Jordie” mashed potatoes, raspberry kuchen, and lutefisk on holidays.

In his free time, Donnie enjoyed gardening, fishing, and attending Lutefisk feeds with family and friends.

A service to celebrate the life of Donald Dean Bonner will be held on March 15, 2024, at 11:00 am at Fulkerson Funeral Home in Sidney, Montana, followed by a luncheon at the Sidney Moose Lodge.

Donnie will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, hard work, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

I really don't have words to express my sadness for your loss of Donnie.
He was one of the best men I have ever had the privilege to know.
We go back so very many years, to when I first met Dawn and we became best friends.
Donnie and you were always just a part of my life from that point on.
We spent many hours sitting at your kitchen table in Williston, discussing our dreams and our futures. You and Donnie took me and Kody into your family and treated us like we had always been a part of it! And fir that we will be forever grateful.
Donnie loved big and his heart was even bigger.
He was the kind of man who could make you feel like you were safe and that he had your back. And I know he always had mine!
We had some great times with lots of laughs and some very hard times, with lots of tears too.
I will always love you and Donnie!
I will forever miss my dearest friend Dawn and now I will miss them both.
They are and were my family, as you are and always will be Jayrene.
I love you my dear sweet Kayreni Beani!!
I will be there on Friday to say goodbye to my buddy and sidekick Donnie.
Until then, rest easy knowing he and Dawn are together now and they are watching over us!!
Much Love and Peace,
Sherry
