It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Phyllis Edith Ober
March 5, 1939 - September 11, 2024

Place of Birth: Grants Pass, Oregon
Residence: Williston, North Dakota
Age: 85

In 1939, a baby girl was born in Grants Pass, Oregon. That baby girl was Phyllis Edith Breazeale, who would grow to become a woman of strong faith and unwavering love. On September 11, 2024, at the age of 85, Phyllis Ober peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, perseverance and unconditional love.

Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Richard and Joseph, whose journeys through life brought both joy and challenges to their mother’s world. Her life was a testament to the power of a mother’s love and the strength of her convictions.

Growing up in Grants Pass, Phyllis developed the resilience and values that would guide her throughout her life. These qualities became her anchor during the sometimes turbulent years of raising her two spirited sons. Richard and Joseph known for their wild and rebellious streaks, tested Phyllis’s patience but never her love.

As a mother, Phyllis faced the daily struggles of parenthood with grace and determination. She often found comfort in her faith, particularly in the words of Psalm 23 and the Lords Prayer, which she recited daily:

“Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom,
and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen”

These words gave her strength and peace, especially during challenging times with her sons.

Despite the difficulties, Phylliss never lost hope for her sons. Her unwavering belief in their potential and her constant support helped shape them into the men they are today. Her journey as a mother was not easy, but it was filled with moments of joy, laughter, and love that she cherished deeply.

Phyllis was an active member of her community, participating in various local organizations and her church. She often shared her experience with other parents, offering a listening ear and words of encouragement.
Throughout her life, Phyllis demonstrated remarkable patience, kindness, and resilience. Her ability to love unconditionally, even in the face of challenges, was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Phyllis Edith Ober’s legacy of love, perseverance, and faith will live on through Richard and Joseph, and all whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a beacon of strength and compassion in her family and community. May she rest in peace, knowing her life was a beautiful reflection of the prayer she held so dear.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Edith (Wood) Breazeale; husband, Richard; brother-in-law, Douglas and James; and grandson, Thomas Ober.

Phyllis’s is survived by sons, Joseph (Heidi) and Richard William (Marlena); and sisters-in-law, Kathy Goodell, Penny Owens, Sandy Ober and Judy Wharton; three grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua and Micah; as well as six great-grandchildren.

I was so sad to heard of Phyllis’ passing. I delivered meals on wheels to her a few times. What a delightful lady she was. I commented to her one day how much I loved her nativity set she had by her front door. She proudly told me she had painted it herself and it brought her so much joy she left it up all the time. It was beautiful. She will be missed. God bless her soul.
