Norma Long passed away Monday September 10, 2024 at Logan Health Medical Center.
Norma was born in Ambrose North Dakota to Ed and Edith (Palm) Strandberg on September 15, 1927.
She attended elementary school in Divide County and Jr High in Sidney, MT. She graduated high school in 1945 in Crosby N.D. After graduation she found employment in Crosby N.D., Great Falls, MT and Williston, ND.
On June 27, 1946 she was married to Kenneth Long in Williston, N.D. They ended up moving to the farm in Twin Butte township. Linda Long was born November 4, 1947. They ended up moving to Williston, N.D. in the early 50's. Norma was a full-time mother and homemaker until 1957 when she was employed at Northwest Piano Company.
In 1969 Ken & Norma moved to Kalispell, MT with their daughter Cindy. In the years living in Montana they enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, camping, snow mobile riding and picking huckleberries. Norma especially liked finding hidden lakes and rivers to fish in and never tiring of the beauty of the Rockies.
Norma also enjoyed bowling, music, playing cards, board games, crossword puzzles, cooking, bird watching, tending to flower beds and of course spending a lot of time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy and her husband Craig Galloway of Kalispell, 2 grandchildren Curtis Galloway of Lakewood, WA and Courtney Diddle of Arvada, CO. Nephews Bruce, Tony & Michael Strandberg of Kalispell, niece Dee Bradford of Colorado. Several cousins including Joel, Tim and Mick Soiseth.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Kenneth, daughter Linda, father Ed, mother Edith and brother Vernie Strandberg and his wife Darlene. Also by nephews David & Craig Strandberg and various uncles and aunts.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday September 16, 2024 at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home 525 Main Street in Kalispell at 11 am. Norma will be buried in a family plot at Riverview Cemetery in Williston, N.D. on Friday, September 20th at 2:00 p.m.
