Leslie Krueger, 73, of New Town, ND, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the Sanford Hospice House in Fargo, ND.

Leslie J. Krueger was born on December 3, 1951 in Morris, MN to Charles and Mary (Sax) Krueger. The family moved to Kenmare, ND and made their home there. Leslie attended school in Kenmare and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1970.

After graduation Leslie joined the United States Army Reserve where he served for six years. He was joined in marriage to Laurie Leppell on May 22, 1982 and together the couple shared over 44 years together. Leslie was a hard and valued worker his whole life. He worked for Delmar Rink Construction before he started his long 36-year career for the Mountrail County Road Department. He also worked on the Allen and Cliff Tollefson Farm for over 30 years. He was very active in the New Town community, serving on the American Legion Post 290 for almost 40 years and the New Town City Fire Department for 45 years.

Leslie enjoyed hunting and fishing, square dancing, haying and harvesting, and snowmobiling. He had a yearly Christmas tradition of making his homemade ice cream that all enjoyed and loved. Leslie had a special touch with animals and loved and cherished the family horses and his little puppies, Wavy and Macy. He was very loved and will be missed greatly.

Leslie is survived by his wife of 44 years, Laurie Krueger; adopted daughters, Adriana Fladeland (Godchild), Tina Leppell, and Hazel Belstad; brothers, Myron and David (Chris) Krueger; sister, Rosemary Schweyen; aunt; Gayle Hoffman; numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Krueger; step-son, James Leppell; brother-in-law, Leland Schweyen; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to express their great thanks to Fargo Sanford Hospital and Hospice Center and staff, and the Trinity Health Clinic and staff for their amazing care for Leslie. Also, thank you to our family and friends that have reached out during this difficult time, we appreciate you all.
