Jonathan “Jon” Andrew Rudie, 65 of Sidney, Montana passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Sidney Health Center Emergency Room in Sidney, Montana.

Jon was born in Sidney MT, on March 19, 1959, to Carol Ann (Lizotte) and Sigurd Rudie. Jon was the first of two siblings. He moved to Portland, Oregon with his parents and brother in 1967. He spent much of his childhood years playing football, soccer, baseball, and even tennis. Jon graduated from Gresham High School in Gresham, Oregon.

Jon began his adulthood in Fairview, Montana pursuing a career in the oilfield with his brother. They both enjoyed boxing at Fairview Boxing Club. Jon pursued many college pathways and other outlets for higher education every chance he had. His love for automotive continued to grow as he graduated in Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in Diesel Electric. Jon was married two times, to Lisa and Cindy, resulting in his much-loved children Clarissa and Mark.

Once returning to help on the farm in 2002, Jon used his automotive skills to fix, restore, and maintain whatever was needed. Jon took great pleasure in working on his vehicles and on the farm, working in the field with the tractor, and fencing with his pickup. His biggest project and love was his 1971 Buick LeSebre, his baby. Golf was a new hobby for Jon. When he was not working, he spent his time with his girlfriend of 7 years, Tina Nelson.

Jon is survived by his father Sigurd Rudie; stepmother Joyce (Krueger) Rudie; sister Susan (Rudie) Kerbis and her husband Paul Kerbis; his son Mark Rudie and his girlfriend Brandi and her daughters Roxanne and Josi; his daughter Clarissa (Holst) Crowley and her wife Cameron Crowley; his nieces Ellie and Eliza Carico; and his grandchildren Aiden, Jayce, and Timber Rudie, and Harrison Crowley.

Jon is preceded in death by his mother Carol Ann (Lizotte) Rudie and his brother Barron Dean Rudie.

Jon loved his work and his seasonal jobs. He was grateful to positively affect so many people in the community with his love of life, and his comedic laughter. He blessed so many in his life and will be deeply missed. MAAAAAAN!!!!!!

My heart just ached when I heard of Jon’s passing. He left us way too soon. I have so many memories of Jon over the years, from babysitting him & Barron in OR to their many trips to the farm. He was a fine young man!
Praying the love of Jesus would surround you & comfort you! May He give you His peace! Love you, big brother!
