Marjorie Clark
October 21, 1932 - May 16, 2025

Place of Birth: Carpio, North Dakota
Residence: Williston, ND
Age: 92

Marjorie Jean (Satterlund) Clark of Williston, ND went to her eternal home on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the age of 92, at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Williston, ND.

Marjorie was born at her country home in Carpio, ND on October 21, 1932 to Victor and Clara (Olson) Satterlund of Carpio, ND. She was raised and educated in rural Carpio, ND where she attended country school and graduated from Dakota Lutheran High School in Minot, ND, in 1950. She attended Minot State Teachers College from 1952-1954 receiving her teaching certificate. She then taught for the next two years at South Callahan, Grano, and Velva schools.

Marjorie met the love of her life, Roy Clark, who she had known since early elementary school. Marjorie and Roy were united in marriage on December 23, 1955, in Minot, ND. They were blessed with six children.

In 1967, they moved to Williston, ND where they continued to raise their family. Marjorie’s compassion and caring ways led her to opening an in-home daycare for many years. She was the “CEO” of the Clark household and took pride in being a dedicated homemaker.

Grandma Marge had a way of making each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren feel special, whether it was through baking, playing board games, or reading books. Some of the family favorites were playing Scrabble, Racko, and Yahtzee. Sports were a huge part of her family’s life, and you could find Marjorie present at many of their sporting events and activities. Her interest in sports continued throughout her entire life. The phrase “Track it Down Marge” will continue to be uttered by Jack Michaels (Todd) every time a Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks player hits a homerun!

She was ever present in her grandchildren’s lives. She provided a sense of solace, support, and oftentimes, laughter. She always took the time to listen and knew exactly what to say to make you feel better. Her wit and sense of humor could match anyone’s. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.

Marjorie is survived by her five children, Vicki (Bruce) Loyland of Thompson, ND, Randy (Letty) Clark of San Antonio, TX, Debbie (Dean) DeMoe of Tioga, ND, Shelly Lynch of Williston, ND, Todd Clark of Fargo, ND; fourteen grandchildren, Brandon (Abby) Weltikol, Tara (Zac) Peterson, Tyler DeMoe, Brandi Clark, Collin Lynch, Randy Roy Clark, Jaden Lynch, McKenna (Rhett) Wolter, Johanna (Connor) Moore, Samantha Clark, Cameron Clark, Trey Lynch, Preston Clark, Parker Clark; great-grandchildren, Dallas Weltikol, Kyree Clark, Wyatt, Ada, Oakley and Archie Peterson, Chesney and Kiplee Wolter, and great-grandson Moore due in June; sister, Delores Scanlon; sister-in-law, Janet Clark; brother-in-law, Harold (Carol) Clark; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Clark; parents; siblings, Edwin, Eunice, Donald, Evelyn, and Marvin. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Rodney James.

We’re so proud and blessed how Marjorie has touched so many lives with her sweet, caring, and compassionate ways. She leaves a legacy of love for her family, spreading kindness, and being strong in her faith.

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Marge. She & Roy were founding members of the 13th Avenue bunch in Williston. I wonder how many ball games Marge watched? I wonder how many she listened to? She & Roy raised a phenomenal family who were great students and athletes. They also raised a media standout, and Debbie and Shelly became phenomenal coaches as well. Randy is one of the most enjoyable people I ever spent time with and to visit with him is the laugh like crazy. She and Roy are together again. May your family celebrate the many enjoyable moment you had with Marge! God Bless!

We’ve never crossed paths but I sure have heard about you from listening to son Jack on the radio. KFGO. Jack talks about what a great childhood he had. I’ve talk to Jack at UNDs women’s BB games and on the radio. He runs low on candy so I have to help the cause. You did a great job Marge. RIP

I think Chris Corner said it best over 25 years ago: "You haven't lived until you live on 13th Ave." Marjorie helped forge that neighborhood we grew up in. Our thoughts, prayers, and some of the best memories of that special block in Williston are with you all.

To the Clark Family, Marge’s obit picture brought a smile to my face. Your parents were salt of the earth people, who raised a great family and supported them in all their activities. Thoughts and prayers to all as you celebrate Marge’s life and reunion with Roy. Sincerely Dave Arnson
