Lola Willert went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at the Good Shepherd Home in Watford City, ND.

Lola Lillian (Jensen) Willert, 88 was born on September 25, 1936 in Parshall, ND to Jens C. and Alice (Johnson) Jensen.

Lola was a great homemaker and seamstress; she sewed for a lot of people. She made several wedding and bridesmaids dresses but was most proud of the wedding dresses she made for her 2 daughters, Debbie and Susan. She then moved onto sewing drapes and curtains which she loved.

Lola was a member Calvary Baptist Church. Lola and Ken loved to travel and spent 18 winters in Myrtle Beach, SC. After Ken’s passing, she continued to travel with family. One of her last big trips she was able to make it out to the East Coast to see 14 states in 14 days. On her trip to Noah’s Ark in Kentucky at age 81 she ziplined. Lola drove her first solo trip to Michigan in her 80’s.

She enjoyed the outdoors tending to her garden and flowers Lola adored her pond, and birdwatching. Christmas was her favorite, and she loved holidays with her family. She cherished every moment spent watching her grandchildren play sports. Lola was a wonderful wife, mother and grandma full of love.

Lola is survived by daughter, Susan (Russell) Zuege of Marysville, MI; son, Steven Willert of Williston, ND; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jade, Jaron (Ashley), Jalissa (fiancé, Zach Feece) Zuege; Michael (Nichole) Scheele, and Rhiannon Willert; great-grandchildren, Jaiden Zuege, Landon Zuege, Easton Zuege, Blake Lillian Zuege just born on June 14, 2025, Corbin and Peyton Scheele; brother, Jens (Alta Mae) Jensen; sister, Marie (Jon) Wissler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lola is preceded in death by her husband, Ken Willert; her parents; daughter, Deborah and son-in-law, Rick Waitman and their son, Joshua in 1978; grandson, Jamin Zuege in 1982 and sister, Dorothy Bird.

The Family would like to extend a special Thank You to Maple View Memory Care in Minot and Good Shepherd Home in Watford City for the special care and for making Lola (Mom and Grandma) so comfortable.

My Lola made wedding dress!
Lola was such a sweet, fun loving lady. She and Kenny will always be loved! She blessed my parents in many ways, but one way was with beautiful drapes. And she made my wedding dress along with the bridesmaid dresses. Such a talent and such a quick smile. Heaven has more of our treasures today! May that blessed hope of resurrection and reunion bring you comfort!

My deepest sympathy to Lola’s family. She was such a talented, soft spoken, gentle woman who was filled with loving kindness and a beautiful smile. She was magic when she sewed something for me! God bless her memory and her loving family as you mourn the loss of one so dear. You were the center of her life.

Leann and I attended Calvary Baptist Church with Mrs. Lola. She was always so pleasant to be around. She was a lady of grace and joy. I can only imagine what her reaction was to being escorted into the portals of glory and into the presence of her Lord and Savior. She will be missed by those she left behind, but one day we will be regathered together in a place where we will never say goodbye.
