It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our sweet Alayna Joy, who was 5 months old.

Alayna Joy was born on March 10, 2025, to Demetrius Rice and Abigail Zarling. From the moment she was born, she brought us immeasurable joy. Though her time with us was brief, she touched the lives of everyone who met her. She had such a sweet smile that took over her whole face and she left an imprint on our hearts that will last forever.

She is survived by her loving parents, Demetrius Rice and Abigail Zarling; grandparents, Jeff and Beth Zarling and John and Tonya Poland. She was deeply loved by great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many who never met her.

Our sweet Alayna Joy, you will be desperately loved and missed forever.

There will be an intimate family service on Saturday, August 23 at 5pm, followed by an informal gathering for those that want to connect with the family and show them support. This gathering will be a come and go event at Liberty Church on Saturday from 6-8pm.
