Curtis W. Anderson
July 6, 1934 - March 1, 2026

Place of Birth: Keene, North Dakota
Residence: Williston, North Dakota
Age: 91

Curtis W. Anderson, 91, passed away on March 1, 2026, at CHI Medical Center in Williston, ND, surrounded by his family.

Curtis was born on July 6, 1934, to Ole and Ada Anderson of Keene, ND. He had many stories of helping on the family farm, milking cows, and putting up hay, which later in life, he hoped that somebody was still getting this done.

Curtis and Sharon made their home on the family farm, and after his retirement from Amoco in 1995, they were able to take daily trips to Williston and, on some days, to Sidney. They enjoyed their visits with family and friends! That got to be a lot of time on the road, so with some convincing, we got them closer to Williston, telling them it would be less wasted time on the road. They lived on a farmstead near Williston, and after 6 years there, it was time for them to move to Williston. They moved to the Briarwood Senior Living, which they loved. Throughout their marriage, spending time with family for holidays, birthdays, and their grandkids' school events, which they never missed, brought them the most joy.

As Curtis and Sharon became less independent, Marie traveled to Williston weekly for 1 or 2 days to be with them. With the help of Marie's daughter, Summer, and lifelong friend Kimme, they were able to remain in their home. We will forever be grateful for their help; with just a phone call, they would be there, besides the days we spent with them. When it was time to leave after a visit, Curtis’s goodbye was “See you later, Alligator,” and our response, of course, was “In a while, crocodile.” He had a great smile, and he was deeply loved and will be missed by all who loved him dearly.

Curtis is survived by his daughter, Marie (Leland) Heller of Keene, ND; granddaughter, Summer (Jesse) Binde of Williston, ND; great-granddaughters, Payton Heller and McKayla Binde of Williston, ND; sister-in-law, Loretta (Norman) Anderson of Watford City, ND; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; his parents, Ole and Ada; his brother, Norman; his sisters, Lola Becken, Darlene Rice, and his baby sister, Hazel.
