Drue Roberts
October 9, 1965 - May 1, 2026

Place of Birth: Sidney, Montana
Residence: Eau Claire, Wisconsin, formerly Sidney, Montana
Age: 60

Drue Marvin Roberts was born on October 9th, 1965 to Eugene and Vera Roberts in Sidney, Montana. He was the last born of 6, completing the Roberts’ clan. He was raised on the family farm/ranch 20 miles north of Lambert. Drue loved his time out there and in later years, when work or his own family didn’t get in his way, he could be found out on the farm.

Drue attended Lambert School from grades 1 to 12. He was active in basketball, track, and football. After high school, Drue attended Montana State University for a semester and then transferred, for the better, to the University of Montana. Drue loved the Griz, proudly displaying his U of M flag for all to see. Drue graduated from the U of M in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business.
Drue was always up for any sort of adventure. His first adventure took him to Oregon but he felt he needed to be closer to home, so he moved to Minot where he managed Perkins. That was still a little too far away, so Drue moved back to Sidney to work as a sales man for Tri-County Implement. He was an excellent sales man, his gift for gab endearing him to local farmers as well as anyone else he came across.

In 1995, Drue met the love of his life, Kathleen Pfau, at the Cattle-ac in Sidney, MT. Kathi’s cousin picked him out of the crowd for her and that was it. They were married 6 months later at The Chapel in the Hills in Rapid City, SD. They made their life in Sidney were they had their son, Cole Thomas, and daughter, Shea Loi. Their best memories were running around after the kids in all their activities. So many summer days camped out around a swimming pool in Eastern Montana cheering the kids on and evenings joking and laughing with the other swim team parents.
Drue was constantly going, dragging Kathi along behind him. Be it on a cruise to the Caribbean, taking in local sights and fairs, or taking couples trips to Las Vegas or to see a Vikings or Twins game, he never sat still a day in his life! In 2023, Drue and Kathi moved to Eau Claire, WI to be closer to their children.

After the move to Wisconsin, Drue needed to find another way to fill up his time since he wasn’t able to go to the farm, so he and his brother-in-law Jeff made it their mission to go to as many bars and golf courses as they could! If they weren’t on a golf course, you could find them on the water, out on the pontoon. Drue didn’t know it until he moved, but he loved to be puttering around on a lake, drinking a beer, and simply being.
Drue’s life was cut short by a very aggressive form of cancer on May 1, 2026. He was where he wanted to be though, at home, surrounded by his wife and children.

Drue leaves behind his wife, Kathleen, Eau Claire, WI, son, Cole, Richfield, MN, and daughter, Shea, Pittsburgh, PA. He also left behind his mother Vera Roberts, Lambert, MT, his brothers Lyle (Pat) Roberts, Sidney, MT, Dale (Kim) Roberts, Lambert, MT, Wade (Penny) Roberts, Sidney, MT, sister, Mavis (Paul) Schwarting, Elbridge, NY, in laws Jeff (Patricia) Ludington, Eau Claire, WI, Daniel (Jeremy) Boyce Minot, ND, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be very missed by his 7 nephews, 4 nieces, and 4 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Roberts, paternal grandparents, Jay and Gertrude Roberts, maternal grandparents, Oscar and Bernice Petrik, father-in-law Daniel Pfau, mother-in-law Jean Pfau, and nephew, Daniel Ludington.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal.” Richard Puz
