It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Anita Marie Pigg
April 4, 1949 - July 23, 2025

Place of Birth: Baker, Montana
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 76

Anita Marie Pigg was born on April 4, 1949, in Baker, MT. She was the beloved daughter of Richard Harland Engstrom & Evelyn (Sara) Engstrom. Her parents met in Great Falls, MT while Evelyn was accompanying the church youth group Christmas carolers with her accordion on the streets of Great Falls, MT.

Anita gave her life to Christ at a very young age and has served God since. Anita graduated from Helena High School then went on to attend Western Montana College.

John first met Anita when he came in from fishing and found her sitting at the table in the home of her uncle Holger and aunt Colleen. That God ordained encounter turned into a lifetime of love. They married on March 27, 1970, in Helena, MT, beginning their journey as husband and wife.

Their early years took them to Denver, Colorado, where Anita worked as a bank teller, and John embraced his role as a provider & caretaker. Eventually, they settled in Sidney, Montana, where John found his calling in the oil business. The quiet strength of their partnership flourished in this close-knit community. They were blessed with a son, Bryan Russell Pigg, born January 8, 1972.

Anita faced the challenge of rheumatoid arthritis from the age of 19, enduring numerous operations and treatments. Despite her health struggles she remained strong in her faith in God. Her husband John was by her side through it all. They are a source of inspiration. Through it all Anita had a ready smile and hug for her family and friends.

John has been a blessing to Anita and her family; his faithfulness is a true testament to the Love of God.

Anita was a dedicated distributor for Shaklee Vitamins for many years. She was a devoted member of Bible Baptist Church, serving in multiple roles including Church/School Secretary under Pastor Rundell. She was involved in the children’s church teaching the 2- and 3-year-olds. She also served as a Ladies Fellowship officer and the Bible Baptist Banner Editor/Publisher, as well as a monitor at the school, and assisted her husband John as Church Treasurer and Special Music. She loved her church family with her whole heart.

On July 23, 2025, Anita completed her journey on earth while at Advanced Care Hospital in Billings, MT. God called Anita home to eternity and into the loving arms of our Precious Savior Jesus Christ. She was surrounded by her husband John Pigg and some of her loved ones as she entered into eternity.

She is survived by her husband John Verner Pigg; son Bryan Russell Pigg; brothers David Eugene Engstrom and Richard Edward Engstrom; uncle Carl Engstrom; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews, great-great-nephew, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Evelyn & Richard Engstrom and brother Eric Allen Engstrom.

Matthew 25:23
His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Thank You
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and loved Anita throughout her life. Your kindness and prayers have been a great comfort to us during this difficult time. Anita lived a life knowing that God was her strength, a life devoted to faith, family and service, overcoming health challenges with grace. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

To John, Bryan, and extended family. I was so sad to hear that Anita has passed away. I have been thinking about her a lot these past weeks knowing that she had been moved to rehab after being in the hospital. I will always treasure my memories of her; she was a very special lady who handled her physical issues with grace and dignity. I have no doubt that she and her parents are having a grand reunion in heaven with all of them cured of their earthly ailments.

Dear John and Bryan,

Anita was the best bible study teacher I ever had. I was part of a large group that flocked to your home for her guidance and faith. She was always so brave and well informed. May Our Lord walk with
you in the days ahead.
